Distanced from the actual procedures (at the time) I was able to study these images for what they were. The half-familiar and recognizable bony structures, barium meal enemas, brain and body scans which became mingled with my X-rays of exotic flowers, fruit and vegetables (dipped in barium meal) plus dolls limbs and heads.
The barium meal study of the colon and the orchid became of equal interest, stripped of their vivid colour, they have the same translucency and ethereal quality.
Similarities were seen between a pepper and a text book heart, a bundle of parsley and cerebral blood vessels. Dislocated dolls heads and limbs became floating body parts.
